I have a simple hostname account (myhostname.dyndns-remote.com) I want to use that for my Android phone. I have the Android dyndns client installed. Q1: What is the 'update domain'? The hostname I specify is already an FQDN. FOr now I added it as 'dyndns-remote.com' but I am not sure that is correct. Q2: I have 'Local area network' turned off. When I start the client, it sends, and I get the reply 'good 127.0.0.1' But the IP address associated with http://myhostname.dyndns-remote.com never changes, not does its update timestamp. What am I doing wrong? |

As there is no official client we need to know what client you're referring to. Keep in mind that your mobile network will give you an RFC 1918 IP address, and if you have one of those you need to be able to configure port forwarding on the device that has the real WAN IP (which you can only do on networks you own, such as your home wireless). |
