General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I have a broadband router (routerA) which is behind ad ADSL router (routerB).

routerA - supports DynDNS service configuration and is correctly configured - on WAN side has a static IP address

routerB - on WAN side has a dynamic IP address

I would like to know if it is possible to configure a Dynamic DNS service on routerA. I tried to make it work but unsuccessfully. Do I have to open/forward specific ports on routerB?

And you should probably use routerB's DDNS update mechanism, since routerA is most likely to just send its WAN IP, which is just another private LAN IP, allocated by routerB.

If routerB does not support DDNS, your best option is likely to run an update client on a computer.

I supposed this. But the problem is that routerA is also an IPSec VPN EndPoint and I am not able to configure a VPN IPSec tunnel from it to the remote EndPoint because I have no fixed IP address: so I thougth to use DDNS but seems impossible.

I'm not sure I understand. Why would you need to have the DDNS update client running on the same device as the VPN endpoint?
