I Have read a good few posts on line and still have a bit of difficulty understanding. Got a few cameras in the business hooked up to a router. Can see the cameras from the wired in PC in the office. Or from any wifi enabled laptop that can connect to the business wifi. EG: connect to the wifi ssid, put in the wifi key... connected from browser enter 192.168.1.100 and i get a web client log in screen, login here and i see the cameras. When i do "what i think is looking for my public ip" via the internet i get an ip address. If i enter this ip into any browser from anywhere i get the login screen to my business router. This is how far i am. I have a dydns account but i have no idea what to do with it. Do i need to pay dydns for a service and if so what, from the forums I see i need to get a Dynamic DNS host but i can’t see that on any services. Can anybody give me a "for dummies" set of instructions on how to proceed. Regards Dan (asidscript@gmail.com) |

Your starter instructions are compiled in this comprehensive guide.
This problem is covered in the guide as well as in these questions.
As far as I can see, no, you don't need to pay for a service. What you want, to resolve your DynDNS hostname to your public IP address, is totally free, for up to two hostnames. As you have multiple cameras, this Q&A is especially interesting for you. |
