I have a D-link router with a built in DYNDNS updater. The updater works just fine and I use the dns service on a regular basis to access my home network. My issue is that I am still receiving the account expiration warnings for having an inactive account. Is there something else I should be doing to mark the account as active? In the past using an updater service always worked without this issue. |

With the free account you must at least perform an update every 28-30 days against each of your DynDNS hostnames, even if your IP address did not change. Your router may not do this, so you had to do it manually at https://www.dyndns.com/account/services/hosts/. |

As well as changing to a client that touches your hostname every 28 days you could upgrade to Dynamic DNS Pro, which removes the requirement to touch the hostname every 28 days. |
