General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I have a D-link router with a built in DYNDNS updater. The updater works just fine and I use the dns service on a regular basis to access my home network. My issue is that I am still receiving the account expiration warnings for having an inactive account. Is there something else I should be doing to mark the account as active? In the past using an updater service always worked without this issue.

With the free account you must at least perform an update every 28-30 days against each of your DynDNS hostnames, even if your IP address did not change. Your router may not do this, so you had to do it manually at https://www.dyndns.com/account/services/hosts/.

As well as changing to a client that touches your hostname every 28 days you could upgrade to Dynamic DNS Pro, which removes the requirement to touch the hostname every 28 days.
