Hi, I just got an IP 9258 server so I can reboot my router, cable modem and IP camera remotely. Eventually I will be setting the server in a remote location so I can reboot via web browser. I’m trying to set everything up here and eventually move the IP 9258 to the remote location. I can reboot easily with the local host but want to do this via the web. I setup a free account at DYNDNS and created the host name/ip address. I can’t get access via the web. Do I have to wait for the DYNDNS to resolve overnight my IP etc. Can anyone tell me the correct way to input the correct info in the IP 9258? Thanks, JAG |

Did you remember to forward the relevant port to the IP 9258? This guide covers that, and more. If it doesn't help you please edit your question to include the information listed at the bottom of that guide. That said, I don't see anything in that unit's manual to suggest it has an update client - what have you configured to update that hostname with the correct WAN IP at the new location? |

Hi, If I’m in the wrong place to get answers to my question, can someone direct me to the right forum etc.? I setup my IP9258 reboot server in a remote location. Currently, I only had my IP Panasonic camera power plugged in the IP9258 server to reboot my remote camera through the browser in case of issues. Keep in mind that when you use the IP9258 to shut down a remote device it either turns the power “ON” Or “OFF” It doesn’t do a cold reset. Currently I lost my remote Comcast internet connection to my reboot server maybe due to Linksys router issues and currently lost the camera connection. I had Comcast support reboot my remote “Internet Modem” but that didn’t help. IT would have been great to be able to reset the router remotely from the IP9258 to reset everything. I didn’t have the Linksys router plugged into the IP9258 reboot server because I’m guessing the IP9258 is dependent on the Linksys router IP gateway to work. While at the remote area at the time of setup, I tested the reboot of the Linksys router with the IP9258 server, and found that it’s like turning off the Linksys router and not like resetting the router with the router reset button. During the test, I lost the IP9258 connection and could NOT restart the Linksys router remotely via the browser. The question is: Is it possible to setup the IP9258 so it works with the Comcast modem (gateway IP) only and not dependent on the Linksys router for an IP address? I would like to be able to turn on and off the Linksys router and IP camera remotely in case of issues. I’ll be heading soon to the remote area to try and configure the IP9258 the best way. Any help will do. Thank you! Simple - use the "Ask a Question" button at the top and we'll help you.
