General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Good Day Gurus,

I curently have my domain e.g http://achme.com hosted by another service provider but due to new ristrictions and security now don’t allow hosted webpages by them to have javascript embeded in them.

So my dilema was to create my own webserver at home. The question is I am happy with my current domain providers offerings but just want dyndns to take care of my cname which is http://www.achme.com

So my computer at home will have the update cleint installed do I register the cname http://www.achme.com using custom dns with dyndns then with in my current domain provider alter the IP for http://www.achme.com to point to dyndns NS Servers and dyndns due to I registering the cname with them point it to my PC.

Any guidance on this matter will be great Thanks in advance

1 Answer:

You'd purchase Custom DNS and move the DNS for your domain achme.com there (see this thread too). In summary you'd configure Custom DNS to have the same entries as the DNS at your provider, except you'd configure your update client to update www.achme.com.
