General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I currently have a DVR and have registered with DynDNS, my manual is indicating that there are only two DNS providers, now I am not sure if the DVR is proprietary using only the two DNS names in print or they are suggestions and the unit is compatible to all DNS services.

I did find DYNDNS along with the other two DNS services.

Is DYNDNS compatible or does it make any differance?

1 Answer:

I assume you meant Dynamic DNS (DDNS) instead of DNS.

Unfortunately without knowing the make and model we can't really answer your question. It probably will work with DynDNS's Dynamic DNS service - a quick Google search for "dvr-model dyndns" (replace dvr-model with the model of your DVR) may tell you more. If that doesn't work then edit your question and supply the make and model (and ideally a link to a PDF copy of the manual) and somebody here should be able to help you.
