I use a Linksys RV042 router. Today I changed my DynDns password. I can log in to my account OK at http://DynDns.org using the new password. When I changed the dyndns password on my router I got the message "DDNS server is currently closed." Any ideas as to what is going onhere? |

I have this VPN router as well, and learned that the host name (all three parts) are also case sensitive. Wild. |

Are either of your username or password more than 10 characters long? This post suggests that there are significant limitations in the Linksys client. |

Hello, I had the same exact problem using the same router. You have to restart the router, it should then work. Saving the new password only is not enough. |

You most likely have a special character in your new password, which is not electable for HTTP(S) updates via your router, like ä, ö, ü, é, è, ô, &, ?, Ä, Ö, Ü, ß, or space, etc. Best approach is to just use a-z, A-Z, 0-9, . (dot) and - (dash). Did you change anything else? Ensure that you list your full correct DynDNS hostname, e.g. http://yourname.dyndns.org, and your correct user ID (case-sensitive). Also, check if your hostname was updated nevertheless. You may also want to temporarily change your password back to the old one to see if it works, just to confirm that the problem is with your new password. I had a special character ("?") in my password. I removed all specail characters so noe there areonly letters and numerals. I still get this error message with te latest pasword.
