General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Remote Desktop worked fine when i connected for the first time. a couple of days latter it failes and can't be restored. I went through the forums and I pass all troubleshooting steps but one

useing a remote server i ran 'telnet domain.dyn.con 3389' and i got the error: ...could not open connection to the host, on port 3389: connection failed WHAT DO I DO TO RESOLVE THIS?

some more info: - I am using a dlink DSL-2650U router on a 2 desktops 4 Notbooks network. - the 2 desktops have a static IP (that is in the DHCP range) - port forwarding is set up and tests well - win 7 firewall has for remote desktop tcp connection (no UDP. Does it matter?) - WLAN is active and working fine. - dyn updater is up and running.

Any help is apriciated thanks Geva

1 Answer:

Is your hostname kept up to date by the update client? Are you testing from another home connection, or a work connection? Many work connections severely limit outbound access.
