So I finally got a website up but I have to specify the port to access it.
ex: http://ableopus.ath.cx:8080

I think its because I am running a WRT54G Linksys router. I am currently forwarding TCP port 80 to 8080.

Anyways all this port stuff just rattles me and I don't want to specify the port in the URL, any ideas?

Simply use a WebHop. Follow the documentation provided from the service page and you'll be up and running in no time.

Yes, WebHop redirection is your friend.
You create a WebHop in your account, pointing to your hostname with IP address, e.g.

ableopus-site.ath.cx ---> http://ableopus-host.ath.cx:8080/
