General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hey all i really need help, ive got a small ubuntu server going on. ive got a TP-Link TL-WR841ND router and im trying to connect to it from a host (Deric.mine.nu) and it just wont work, all the ports are forwarded, and a ssh connection works within the LAN, but if i use http://deric.mine.nu, it brings me to my modems page, and i dont know why... help?

the router has the option to sign into dyndns, but all that does is change the host ip to my routers ip (192.168.2.10)

I would like to suggest to work through this wiki entry.

Some routers or modems do not allow you to use port 80 by default, but present their web interface instead, you had to use another port then. Why do you think that your router updates your DynDNS hostname with an internal private IP address? Your hostname currently points to 65.93.160.212, which looks reasonable.

its a sppedstream 5200, and it got it to work now for a second, but then when i trefresh it dies my router says that my ubuntu box is in the dhcp client list, but it will disapeer sometimes, is that normal?

Not really normal. It looks as if you better refer to TP-Link support or their forum, in case there is any. This is most likely router or modem related, nothing to do with DynDNS. Then come back.

Aargh, just seeing that your router indeed has updated your DynDNS hostname with 192.168.2.10. Bad stuff!

i dont know why though, i dont see a setting that would let me choose what ip its it will upload

Thanks anyways, the support for tp-link really sucks, so i guess its down to more playing around with the settings
