Greetings all, and thanks in advance for your help. I've recently bought domain name with DynDNS and paid for Custom DNS. When I look at my domain zone it says - "pre-activated" and when I click on it it gives the following message:
My problem is that I don't know where on the site I have the option to do what it is asking me. When I do a whois from the command line of my mac for my domain name I do get the relevant information with my credentials so I'm not sure when going to http://www.mysite.net just give me the generic http://DYNDNS.com parket domain page. I've set up my mac to host a site internally and I've done the port forwarding for port 80 to the relevant IP Do I need to 1: Be patient 2: RTFM Any help much appreciated.... Pete |

You have a very different problem - I don't see any domain registration for that domain. Have you registered it anywhere? If so then you'll need to use the registrar's control panel to update the DNS servers - see their documentation. If not you'll need to register the domain (all you appear to have just now is Custom DNS, the DNS hosting service). See the Custom DNS documentation for more information. |

Yes I have registered it here on dyndns but it was today. Maybe it takes time? |

Please see cgonyea's comment:
You have only purchased Custom DNS you have not registered the domain. |

To do this, log into your account and click on "My Services" in the upper right hand corner. Under "Zone Level Services" click on "Domain Registration" There you'll need to click on the button to "Edit Nameservers" and, at the next screen, click the button for "Set to Custom DNS Nameservers" Your zone will go fully active within 2 hours of doing this. |

Hello, I am experiencing the same problem. When I click on "My Services" this is what I see: Zone Level Services Details - Add Zone Service - Host Update Logs tigergym.ca Custom DNS Service, inactive March 19, 2011 When I click on Custom DNS Service this is what I see: DNS for http://tigergym.ca Status: Pre-activated Preferences Service: Custom DNS Hosting, expires March 19, 2011 (cancel now) When I click on preferences this is what I see: Your domain delegation does not include required http://ns1.mydyndns.org and http://ns2.mydyndns.org nameservers. Current Delegation Info:
Any help please? Please, start a separate question with your own problem - that keeps unrelated problems separate, helping avoid confusion.

The domain http://tigergym.ca is not registered. You purchased the DNS service for a domain that doesn't exist. Please register http://tigergym.ca at a registrar that supports .ca registrations and then change the nameserver delegation to our nameservers listed in step 3 of our how-to article: https://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/custom/howto.html
