My device, which is not listed in the tested devices, lists "members.dyndns.org and http://dnsalias.com" as one of the choices of servers to log onto. Using that entry, along with my http://dyndns.ws domain, and http://DynDNS.com username and password, does not seem to work to update DNS when the device picks up a new IP address from my cable modem. Do http://members.dyndns.org and/or http://dnsalias.com land on http://DynDNS.com? Is my device configured (as described above) properly to connect to and updated the DNS entry for my http://dyndns.ws domain? Thanks in advance. |

According to the specs, the update host is http://members.dyndns.org, whereas http://dnsalias.com is not known to me to be available for updates. Regarding the delay in propagating your DNS entry, this also depends on the recursive DNS service you are using. Some ISPs really do not adhere to the rules and simply disregard the TTL. You may want to use an alternative DNS service like the DynDNS Internet Guide to overcome this. |
DNS finally updated, so please disregard the question. Thought TTL is set to 60 seconds, it took about 45 minutes for propagation.
