Hey, my Provider delivers dynamic-IP-Adresses, but this dynamic adress only changes when i chance the routers mac adress manually. The Router-DDNS-Log reports: No update needed (WanIP no change) After 25days i receive the Account Expiration Warning Mail. Is there another opportunity then forcing the DDNS-Update manually, using DDNS-Update-Software or writing an script for the DDNS-Api? Greetz, an old satisfied user ;) |

I presume you have configured your router for DDNS updates. A router adhereing to the DynDNS rules would perform an update every 28 days. You may report this bug to your router vendor or ISP, whomever you got the router from. And yes, you may install an Update Client, or you could write a script according to the API. |

Note that the current versions of the DynDNS provided update clients don't perform updates at regular intervals, to encourage people to upgrade to the Pro service. I'd suggest first checking to see if a newer firmware is available for the router and try that if there is one. If there isn't then either install an update client that does periodic updates, or upgrade to the Pro service. Version 3.x does support updates at regular intervals, as far as I recall. (Just not at hand.)
