General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hello,
Has anyone had this issue. I can see the security logon screen via external web. I enter the password and it fails. I connect via local network, see the same screen, enter password and it logs in fine.

If I am seeing the same logon screen via both lan and wan why wouldn't the password work via wan? Maybe timeout due to distance?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Settings:

  1. Astak Security camera DVR: has static ip, dns/gateway pointing to router (10.0.0.138). web port 8000, media port 9000.
  2. Thomson tg782 modem/router: firewall disabled, dyndns auto update enabled, port forwarded port tcp/8000, UDP/9000.

I doubt distance is an issue. More likely it is one of:

  1. You don't have all the required ports forwarded
  2. The DVR has a setting limiting access to the LAN enabled
  3. The DVR can't be accessed from outside the LAN due to a design flaw

You're certain that the DVR uses UDP for port 9000? If so I'd suggest you discuss this on a DVR forum since somebody there may be familiar with your particular unit (remember to provide the model, not just the make).

Or is this something with a missing ActiveX Control on the remote computer? Or one of the ports outbound blocked on the remote network?

I had the same issue before, here is the ports that you need to open: Port 80 and port 9000 with TCP, I think your mistake is port 9000 uses TCP and not UDP any more questions you can email me: fbenyoussef@gmail.com. Thanks.
