General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I am trying to view my DVR (FALCO 4ch H.264 Standalone DVR) installed in my office from my home. I followed all the steps "How do I access my device from outside my home network", and my wireless router connected to the DVR is Netopia 3347NWG. I do not have a static external IP address, but I've assigned a fixed internal IP for the DVR and using the DynDNS service to host. So far I am able to access the DVR within the LAN using the assigned internal IP, but not with the web hostname. I had someone to test from the outside by typing the hostname, that didn't work either. I've checked the ports using Open Port tool from DynDNS and it says all the ports 67,68,8080 are opened. But using PFPortChecker tool says they are not open.

What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

1 Answer:

You don't have an ADSL modem I take it?

Your external modem or router - it's WAN IP doesn't begin 192.168, 172.16-31. or 10.?

When somebody is trying to access it remotely, they're remembering to specify port 8080? When you access it from the LAN you have to use port 8080?
