Hi, Is it possible to have a personal mail server that will be used whenever the Outbound Mail Service reaches its bought limit? like the Backup MX service? For example, I get the 150 block of the OutBound service, but my 150 relays are finished before the end of the day... will the rest of the emails I need to send during that day use my mail server instead or will they be rejected and I will have to wait till next day to send them? How can I do that configuration? Would it be better to use MailHop Relay? does MailHop Relay helps with busy SMTP servers as Outbound does? Im worried that if I get a 150 block of Outbound relays my emails will be bounced back if I reach that limit before the end of the day and would have to wait till next day to send them. Or if I get MailHop Relay that I will have to wait a long time if the STMP is busy with an email someone mistakenly sent with 50MB. Im trying to figure out the differences between Backup MX, Outbound and Relay services to meet my needs: Add to my personal Webhosting's mail server the garranty (to the best possible) that emails will be sent immediatly and that emails will also be received in all cases where delivery is possible. Thank you for taking the time to read this and give your comments. |

MailHop Relay is for inbound email - email to your mail server. Only Outbound is for sending email. You can buy more than 150 a day - you simply have to buy it in blocks of 150. Using only MailHop Outbound for the first 150 a day would be something you'd have to do yourself. For all MailHop services the limit is 10 MB per email (which works out at about 7 MB of attachments). If you have to wait a long time it'll be because of your mail server's bandwidth, not because of MailHop. A quick summary of the 3 completely different services you list: Backup MX: email to you uses your own mail server, Backup MX queues email for you if your mail server is offline. Outbound: rather than using your ISP you relay outbound email through the MailHop servers Relay: email to you is spam and virus scanned before being sent on to your own mail server You'll find more details on the MailHop page. |
