I have go through the instructions from here until Step Four. I encounter the problem as when I enter the site I get my router's admin page. I have no idea how to solve the problem with the three options: I have done with the port forwarding intranet, which I can view my cctv using LAN on other PC. Can anyone please help me?? I'm not so sure about the setting on NAT (Virtual Server and DMZ). Is it something to do with the stated setting? I have tried to put Local IP of the CCTV PC, but no Luck.. I'm using Billion BiPac-5112S (Modem) which connected to wireless router (Dlink-DIR615).. Port Forwarding was done on the router. |

The dmz ip must be that of your dvr. The dmz server= your dvr's ip adrres(or dvr pc ip addres). Check what your router's ip is. If your dmz server is setup to your dvr's ip then all incoming traffic will go to the dvr like your remote software. |

You need to forward the desired port on both, your modem and your router, from your modem to the WAN facing internal IP address of your router, and then from your router to the internal IP address of your CCTV device. At this point you can also translate the port number from one (external) to another (internal), the latter where your CCTV device is listening on. If this port does not work, because you get an admin interface of your modem or your router, simply use another port number. |

Thank you so much RotBlitz. BUT I'm still confused.. My Modem IP (192.168.1.254) My Wireless Router IP (192.168.0.1) CCTV (192.168.0.50) using Port 8080 and 8081. SO when I do Port Forward in Router, I should Port-Forward / set 192.168.0.50 on my router rite? Do I need to do Port Forward to Modem IP on my Wireless Router as well? I have set NAT in my Modem to 192.168.0.1. Thats not your correct modem ip, it wont start with 192.168. Check in your router status what ip your isp assigned you. Set your dmz server ip to 192.168.0.50. If you now connect to your modem from somewhere else all data will be directed to 192.168.0.50. Now you can use dns to connect to your router. So you can view remotely

This is an example how it would work:
Modem Router CCTV
[192.168.1.x Net] [192.168.0.x Net]
Fw:*:8080 -> 192.168.1.???:8080 Fw:192.168.1.???:8080 -> 192.168.0.50:8080
Fw:*:8081 -> 192.168.1.???:8081 Fw:192.168.1.???:8081 -> 192.168.0.50:8081
(Port translation is possible here.)
Not sure about the WAN facing IP address of your router, but this may be 192.168.1.1. |
