General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

My configuration is cable modem, ooma (VOIP),router (static ip.) WIFI devices are two Foscam web cameras (static ip with DYNDNS enabled) and an IMAC (dchp). DYNDNS updater installed on IMAC. Two-three times a week my dyndns host ip address on the web page changes to a 99.99 etc. ip (usually during the evening) which turns out to be ATT and I cannot access webcams via host name. Comcast is my ip and this is not my wan ip address. Updater shows proper wan ip address and web page will update manually to proper IP. I also have wifi ipad and iphone.

Can anyone advise why this might happen??Anyone have a potential fix??

Thanks,Bob

You must only configure a single update client to update any hostname. Running more than one may cause your account to be blocked for abuse.

There are a couple of options for what the problem may be:

  1. The update client in the Foscam is faulty - try updating the firmware
  2. You're running a VPN or other remote access tool on the Mac and the update client is picking up the other end of that link

Thank you for prompt response. Remote access could be logmein on ipad?? Anyway to fix other than disable logmein when not needed?? Please note change to ip happens even when logmein not used but is active on mac.

I don't know, knowing nothing about how LogMeIn works. The first thing to try though, as I've said, is to disable all but one update client.
