I am new to Dynamic DNS and how it works so please bear with me. I have a place in Manila, Philippines, that is equipped with a cable modem from my local IPS and I will be using a Linksys E2000 wireless router connected to the modem. I have Dynamic DNS Client Updater installed on my laptop PC but not on my iPad 2. My question is: when I connect to the internet, will the new IP addresses for my laptop PC and iPad 2 be shown as residing in the U.S. or the Philippines? |

It will be shown as the WAN IP of the Internet connection you're using, wherever that is. If you connect it to your network in the Philippines then that is the WAN IP that your hostname will be updated with.
By itself, no. Were you to run a VPN server on your home network it would allow you to connect to that home VPN, using the hostname. In general it is usually better to ask the question you want the answer to ;) |
Thank you Cry Havoc for the reply. I guess what I really want to know is if having the DynDNS service will enable me to view movie videos from my Netflix or VUDU accounts while in the Philippines?
