I have an account setup to use with my computer (laptop) and I've also setup an account to use at my parents network (in the router). I have different defense plans for each (laptop and parent's network) since my parent's account is setup for use by my nieces, Can I override my parent's network DNS while using my laptop in that network? |

No - or more precisely only one defence plan applies to any single WAN IP (usually a network). If you are running an update client on your laptop then when using your parent's network the results will be unpredictable. Some of the time everybody will be using the defence plan for your parent's network, some of the time the defence plan for your laptop. |

There can be exactly one defense plan per public IP address. This means if you share your internet connection with your parents, you can have just one defense plan. Internet Guide isn't aware of any of your LAN internals. However, if your parents have their own internet connection, you can (and must) have of course two defense plans, one for you with a related DynDNS hostname updated with your WAN IP address, and another for your parents, also with a DynDNS hostname updated with their WAN IP address. The updaters (software client or router) in each network must update its hostname to make the settings effective. |
