Somebody please help me, I am really lost in this field. I do not know which option to use for DNS as I must connect 2 X CCTV DVRs via a 3G router to the NVR on my PC also connected via 3G on another modem, the 3G uses dynamic IP addressing. I have unrestricted an APN and now a host of DynDNS services. But I do not know how to configure this. On top of that when I test Port Forwarding they do not forward - obviously because I have the wrong options on the DNS. Somebody please teach this old guy. Regards Sam |

You'll need to thoroughly work through this comprehensive guide to get started.
While working the first sections of the guide you may detect that you get a private RFC-1918 IP address assigned by your ISP, as very often is the case with 3G connections. Then there is no way to reach your network from outside, not at all. As you say "they do not forward". You had to change the internet connection product/service or the ISP then. This is not because of "wrong options on the DNS" and cannot be resolved via DNS, but only by your ISP. |
