General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

There are lot of devices out there that only support dyndns in the Industry through its long running free service. I really don't understand why this service start to charge.

Although it said I can join the 30 days trial pro so to get a free domain name, however, I tried so many time, still not fruitful. I am stuck in the middle of no where and my edimax cam just like rubbish, unable to set up wifi party due to the dynamic dns issue!!

I don't know is there any agreement between your company and edimax, but if any party intends to make this domain service as a business and gonna to charge customers, customers should have been told that no more free domain will be given and DYN is the only provider! and we will have the right to decide whether to buy this product!! But the problem now is that compulsory provider given in one product and originally such service should be free and now start going to charge without notice! I feel that I was being cheated. If I know that the domain is not free, I will definately not buying such brand of cam!

Note that this is a user to user forum.

There is still a free service, you just have to sign up for a free trial and then cancel the Pro service - see here. Of course, your real issue is with Edimax since they chose to only support one of many Dynamic DNS providers. I'd suggest you also complain to them.

Wait I found it:

If you get the message that you have already reached your maximum alloted host names (or something like that) and you are currently at zero host names, you will need to visit http://dyn.com/dns/dyndns-pro-free-trial/ and click the "start free trial" button in yellow.

I am also having an issue with my account. It won't allow me to add a host, but say's I don't have a host. I just signed up but can't configure my router. I can't remember my old account info for my http://mj.game-host.org dyndns, however I can not recover it either as its my old email address with my old ISP, no longer have access to that account. Please help to transfer the account over or allow me to at least register a new one. Regards Michael Allen

This is a user to user forum. Nothing we can help with account specific problems.
Also, your problem is unrelated here, especially as answer to someone else's question.
Here you go: http://dyn.com/legal/account-ownership-and-recovery-policy/

what the heck???

I buyed a tp-link router for my parents and need a dyndns for remote support.

Created a free account and get the error "You already have the maximum number of Dynamic DNS hosts."

The problem is, i cannot sign in for trial and cancel it after hostname creation...

after entering a hostname they want credit card information...

I am from Germany, a credit card is no need in this country. So I have no credit card, my parents neither.

what now???? i dont want to install dd-wrt or similar on my parents routers to use another "free" dyndns service...

Sorry to say, but no solution available. Also, this is a user to user forum, so you're asking peers, not DynDNS.

Yes, exactly the same problem!

I created a free account, logged in, says I have no domains, I tr to add one, it says I've reached the maximum....

So...zero is the MAXIMUM?

Dyndns has turned into garbage. From industry leader to loser!!!!!!

Chris Widner you are an idiot.
