General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hey guys

I've gone through a lot of these posts but many of them don't give me the information I'm looking for and i was wondering if you guys could help me out.

I recently bought DynDNS Pro so i could have a DDNS to redirect friends of mine to my minecraft server (Hostname is http://shadesserver.dyndns.org) I followed all the steps in this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNPCVNuyCMo

I forwarded my ports with PFconfig (program from the portforward website) and checked to see if it was open with PFportchecker

I can connect through my static LAN IP from another computer and my friends can connect through my external IP however the DDNS doesnt redirect people to my external IP address. I also have Dyn Updater which tells me my host name is updated to my External IP however when i enter the host name into minecraft it comes up with "communication error" (common error when the address is wrong.

I'm stumped with this guys i have no clue what else to try.

If anyone could give me step by step instructions specific to this topic (minecraft) it would be greatly appreciated

If this helps my router is a DG834GUv5 Firmware SP2V6.00.23STAUS

if you need any other information ill happily post it ASAP

Read the guide, followed the instructions. still no fix :( People could connect to my WAN IP but the DDNS name still doesnt re-direct.

i tried with http://shadesserver.dyndns.org:25565 but still a communication error.

Your DynDNS hostname : shadesserver.dyndns.org The ports you have forwarded : 25565 The make, model and version of your router : netgear DG834GUv5 Firmware SP2V6.00.23STAUS

The make, model and version of any ADSL modem or router ^^

The LAN IP address, netmask and default gateway for the device you're trying to reach 10.1.1.50

The WAN IP address of the ISP connected device (modem or router) (as shown in the modem or router's management pages, not what any web site shows)110.33.163.191

If you're forwarding to a computer the operating system and patch level (for example Windows XP Pro SP2, MacOS X 10.6.5 or Ubuntu 10.04.2)Windows XP Pro SP3

Please work through this sticky and if it doesn't solve your problem edit your question to include the rest of the information at the end of the guide. At a rough guess, when connecting with the IP you're remembering to include the port but not when using the hostname.

I'm not seeing that port open. The Windows host can connect to the Internet? Have you tried disabling the software firewall?
