General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hi, am using free dyndns host services.

Last days second time same error on my Cisco Small Business Router on the tab Dyndns Update:

"Strange server response, are you connecting to the right server?"

Is it my router issue or issue of free Dyndns host service? Router is working since 6 weeks without reboot. Problems with Dyndns occurs only last three days. Why I have this error only last three days? Any maintenance works on free Dyndns server? Do I have to subscribe to Dyndns Pro in order to avoid these kind of errors?

I haven't touched anything in the router, network or DynDNS account config, so it's a case of "just stopped working". Looks like DynDNS changed anything on its side.

Please help. Thank you.

1 Answer:

A "strange server response" can be anything. Too bad that the router doesn't show what response was returned from Dyn. These are the possible responses. Not sure what of those are treated as "strange" by your router...

Looks like DynDNS changed anything on its side.

Do you really think they would change something given that millions of devices and programs use the service???
