Dear mates, We are going to implement more than 10 IP cameras..(cheap ones) in our office and I already saw that those cameras have your DynDns option in its configurations. We have 3 offices around the city and we will put 3 or 4 cameras in each office. we already have DSL internet connection in all offices. my question is, what kind of account do we need to purchase for all the offices from DynDns? do we need three different account like dynpro?? or which one? its a IP security cameras from Sitecome. Also please let me know whether to put the settings in Camera itself or in the ADSL modem router? Regards, |

Personal opinion:- Start with DynDNS PRO @ $20pa which is what I use. Create three hosts, one for each building with your choice of DynDNS suffix. Use the router on each site to provide DynDNS updates. It is important that you use only one update client per site. By using just the one account, Username and Password will be the same for each site with just the hostname for that site being different. Hope that makes sense... |

You can use one (DynDNS Pro) account with 3 hostnames (one for each location) without problems - as long as you only have a single update device at each location. I would recommend you check the known good and known bad client lists - if your devices aren't listed in either than try the modem first. At each location you'll need to forward 4 different ports - one for each camera. If you want to avoid having to remember those ports then you'll want 3 further hosts for each location - one for each camera after the first - configured as a WebHop to the hostname with an IP address at that location, and the relevant port for that camera. |

thanks Shenn Dooinney for your reply. have you got my point that what I want to use? If no then, I have 3 sites with different ADSL connection and in each site I have 4 cameras that we want to connect. there is an option of dyndns in camera and in ADSL modem also. so in every site I suppose to put the user ID and password in the camera and in the modem also with hostnames that I would make? I have read this somewhere in the community forum that DO NOT use one account more than one place otherwise there would be a very good chance that your IP go blacklist. Please anything if you need to ask and would answer it back would be highly appreciated. and NOW also please suggest what account do I need to purchase now as you now know that I have 3 different places with 4 cameras on each side. Thanks in Adv. |
