General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I'm trying to use ddns for my stand-alone DVR connected to my DHCP network. I have the DDNS set up in my DVR with all the correct credentials. In order to view the dvr remotely, you must enter the external IP of the router (which is dynamic). The IP set up for the host is the same as my IP and everything, but for some reason it doesn't work. While I was port forwarding, which was done correctly, I noticed a DDNS option in the router page. I tried contacting Belkin, which has god-awful support, to see if this needs to be configured to my host. It turns out it did and I entered the credentials and everything correctly, but when i click to apply the changes it says for the status "Abusive Update." The support agent then told me to come here -_-. Please help, I've been trying to get this going for months now and the lack of help is so frustrating.

1 Answer:

Please start by working through this sticky, noting that your router doesn't seem to have a functional update client. You will need to switch to one known to work. If you can provide the model and firmware revision of your router I'll add it to the known broken clients.

If that guide doesn't get you running, please edit your question to include all the information listed at the end of that guide. With all of that information we should be able to help you get it working.
