I have a DVR security carera system from "Security Camara King" installed in my Aruba house. I'm battling with the dynamic IP address problem which hampers remote viewing. Right now I have the DVR and a Motorola SBG901 cable modem set up but no computer left there running. It seems that my modem does not support any type of update client so I'm thinking about buying a new one that does. What would be a good, easy to use, trouble free modem to get? Also is there a better way to go to solve this problem? Thanks! |

There is a sticky listing known good clients, both hardware and software solutions. There is also a sticky of known broken clients so you know what to avoid. |

Hello wordawg, Checking the SBG901 User Guide on the Motorola website, indicates that the SBG901 does support DDNS. (page 40) Also a quick check of the Securty Camera King website, and their cheapest model Security DVR, indicates that they also support DDNS. You may wish to recheck your units to make certain they don't support DDNS before making a needless purchase. Hope this helps. regards... |
