Hi all, This is what we want to do, and will be happy to know how DynDNS can be of help and what other tools we would require. We want to live broadcast 24/7 from a temple. We have two cameras on site (in the temple) and a 4 channel DVR to which they are connected. The DVR is connected to a router with a static IP. Now to broadcast this stream live, we were suggested to do it via http://DynDNS.org (an option indicated both in the Hi-Focus DVR and in the Netgear Router). This live stream we also hope to embed on our website. What a few developers have been able to show is a ***.dyndns.org being able to access the DVR login page. But that is not what we would prefer. We would want a livestream just accessible at a link (And NOT just at our STATIC IP - since it would be watched by over 1000 people and the DVR/router and by uplink bandwidth would be pretty much insufficient). Could someone point us to the right directions ? Cheers! |

A live, multicast, stream wouldn't require any more bandwidth than any other solution, since everybody would be receiving the same stream, that's how multicast is designed to work. This will require a server on your network to turn the DVR's output into a multicast stream, and then appropriate clients on everybody's computer. You are probably best asking on a DVR or Internet Camera specific forum, though a quick search found this post on another forum. I would also recommend you search for video multicast server to find many relevant options. |

Sounds like you want to get a ShouCast server, to serve the streams to everyone, as your iterent connection wont be able to upload that much data! I would also recommend a CCTV System from these guys. |
