General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

I was successfully using DynDNS to direct http://dalekhound.webhop.biz to an iMac on my Apple AirPort Extreme network. I changed my Internet provider from Comcast to Verizon FiOS. Instead of a Comcast Internet modem, I now have a Verizon ActionTEC M1424WR router sitting between the Internet and my AirPort Extreme (AE). This new router has its own wireless connectivity and serves up its own IP addresses in the 192.168.1.n range rather than the 10.0.1.n range the AE was using.

To get everything working, I had to change the AE's configuration so that it acts as a bridge in terms of its "connection sharing." It formerly used to "share a public IP address," but that led to a "Double NAT" problem when I put in the new router.

Also, to get everything working I had to stop using a fixed manual IP address on my iMac. I'm now just "Using DHCP" and not "Using DHCP with manual address" to configure IPv4.

Now http://dalekhound.webhop.biz points to the IP address of the Verizon router. It does not point to the IP address of my AirPort Extreme and get shunted to my iMac as a host computer.

My question is: How can I get DynDNS set up to drill past my new router and find my iMac host computer once again?

You must configure the iMac and the AirPort Extreme to use a fixed IP address on all interfaces.

If the AirPort Extreme is just acting as a wireless router, why not remove it and use just the Verizon provided router?

If you want to use both then, you'll have to forward the ports you are using first from the Verizon router to the (static) IP on the WAN interface of the AirPort Extreme. Then you'll have to forward it from the AirPort Extreme to the (static) IP of the iMac.

This sticky should help you.

Please port forward from Verizon to AE and then from AE to the client. this should work.
