Hello! I did delete one host from my account and I also changed my password for my account, but that host keeps running every day with DDNS and updates IP address of that ADSL router. I dont even have that host on my list anymore. What can I do to disable that host? Best regards! |

Is the hostname still visible in your account? If you enter it into the likes of Central Ops does the hostname resolve to your WAN IP? If it still shows as working from within your network then it suggests that you've something like an entry in the |

Hello amrksic, The updating of your ADSL router's WAN IP address is controlled by your ISP only. I am not clear as to what you mean by: "...but that host keeps running every day with DDNS and updates IP address of that ADSL router." Could you please clarify? regards... Have you removed the hostname and password from the router?

Yes sure, this function of your router will work forever if you don't disable it. Why should it stop by itself? We cannot specifically help you with your unspecified router. Best is to look into your router's manual where certainly is described how to enable and disable the DDNS update function. |

Thank you guys! Problem is I dont have access to that router anymore. My idea was to remove free domain entry from my host list and change password for my account and with those two steps disable dynamic update for that router. It shocked me after some time when I have noticed that free domain entry is still operational! I can reach Exchange server behind that router. Regards! "...I dont have access to that router anymore." is the router in the same location and possible still have the same WAN IP. If so, maybe the old DNS resolution is cached somewhere, and that is the resolution you are getting. If so, then it should dissapear when the TTL expires. Rotblitz? Cry Havok?

Hello guys, thank you all again, you are very friendly and helpful. Host name is not visible in my account, because I have delete it as a first step in the begining! So, Cry Havok I did try http://Centralops.net site (and its great site, thanks) and Centralops resolve the corrrect IP WAN address od that router (I did reach Exchange with entering IP addr. instead of free domain). If you think of some entry in "lmhost" I can assure you there is no entry of this kind. Behind that router is small LAN with SBS 2003 with DNS service, but that DNS is connected with ISPs DNS service so its not likely for that local DNS to resolve WAN IP. All my work is outside mentioned router and LAN because I dont have access to that facility anymore and I just want to disable them from use of my Dyndns acount. Only that router is configured with Dyndns acount (username, password and free domain) and I did remove free domain from my Dyndns account and change the password for my account. Is there any more ideas? It is weird that one thing is working when it not supposed to work anymore, thats like some jinx or Murphy law hehehe. Best Regards to all! Unbelievable if you still can reach your network by the DynDNS hostname you have deleted! Can you provide us with its name? We may be able to find out why this is. As far as the router is concerned, its DDNS update function will not stop if not someone disables it there. But this shouldn't matter if the hostname no longer exists, and you changed your password.
