So, I registered a top level .com domain along with dyn standard. I had used webhop before with a free account and the 'add host' thing with the http://example.dyndns.com -> http://random.other.website.com, but cannot figure out how to do it with http://example.com -> http://example2.com after registering http://example.com. All of the documentation seems to assume a free account and host services with the http://example.dyndns.com freebie, and not an actually registered top level .com registration. The goal is to redirect my http://example.com to http://arbitrarywebsite.whatever.com/whatever/index.html. |

The process is exactly the same, and basically what you've said in your question - create That's the setting screen for your Dynamic DNS hosts. There is an entirely separate screen for Standard DNS. Once you've signed in select My Zones/Domains, then select Dyn Standard DNS Service for the domain in question. It is there that you create, change and remove all entries relating to that domain. |
You do this in your Dyn Standard DNS settings while adding another DNS record (can be a Webhop redirect too). In fact you would not need dynamic DNS hostnames at all, you can create subdomain names of your domain instead and update these with your dynamic IP address information as needed. |

How? In the "add new host name" thing, you are faced with this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1832211/addnewhostname.png I registered http://example.com, but I cannot find where to add a webhop for http://example.com, only http://example.blablabla.com. The goal is to redirect http://example.com to arbitrarywebsite.blabla/blabla/index.html. Thanks in advance. |
