Hi , am using a GPRS modem and want to update its ip ...

when i try from my browser using the url syntax

http://kxxxxxs:9kxxxxws@members.dyndns.org/nic/update?hostname=gxxxxx.homeunix.com&myip=x.x.x.x&wildcard=NOCHG&mx=NOCHG&backmx=NOCHG

I get Good x.x.x.x or Nochng as expected..

but when i send the raw http get from my Gprs enabled board i get badagent

i send the following to members.dyndns.org port8245

GET /nic/update?hostname=gsm.homeunix.com&myip=127.0.0.1 HTTP/1.0
Host: members.dyndns.org
Authorization: Basic xxxxxxxx=
User-Agent: futura - arduinodydns - 1.1

Change your password - now

You just posted your Base64 encoded username and password for your account. It will take about 3 seconds for somebody to turn that encoded string into your username and password. Oh, and there's no point obfuscating one instance of your hostname, but leaving all the others.


As explained here, your problem is either that your request is invalid or Dyn are refusing the user agent string since that device is known to be broken.

but when i send the same data using GPRS modem i get BAdagent ..... what is the reason ???
