my network provider has told me that the only way I can get cctv remote access would be to get a fixed IP for a price, of course. Could anyone instruct me otherwise, I have been referring to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ks8RH8RjwI which seems straightforward enough and some posts on this forum but my ipconfig settings do not match the instructions...... do i need a DHCP lease? How? Flashing the router? But I don't have a router.(So would buying a router solve the problem?)What abt DDNS?

What you are showing are your computer settings, right? These are absolutely of no relevance, but your CCTV settings are (unless your CCTV is connected to your computer, e.g. via USB).

Also, if you don't have a router, how (what exact device, e.g. modem, ISDN adapter, ...) are you connected to the internet?

I'm assuming this 203.198.37.36 is your static IP address then, right?

Further, working through this guide may give you some insight what's important to know and to do.

Edit:

both the cctv dvr and the computer is connected to the same modem
IP address: 198.168.1.10

Can you reach your DVR from the computer with its current settings, i.e. by 198.168.1.10? I would expect your DVR having a public IP address and not a private one, unless your modem is in fact a router / NAT device. I suspect the latter, because else you would not be able to connect two devices.

Switch your DVR temporarily to DHCP enabled, and see what IPv4 settings it gets, and post them here. Also links to online manuals for your modem and your DVR would be useful for us to help further.

If you come to the conclusion that your modem is in fact a router, then you would proceed with thoroughly working through the already mentioned guide.
