Good day Please can you assist me with creating a http://_________.dyndns.info without giving my credit card details!? |

The only current way to get a free host name is via a Pro 14-day trial, which requires a credit card for verification purposes. I'm sorry if you find this frustrating, but it allows us to provide a more secure network while maintaining its integrity. Mike Community Manager, Dyn |

Does that mean the old FREE dyndns service is no longer available for home users? I have used it for the last few years to view my home security cameras and today is was gone. Looked through junk email and found an email from "donotreply@dyndns.com", sent 8 days ago, warning that my hostname would expire in 5 days due to inactivity. Didn't see it in time to save the free hosting as the link in the email had expired. To keep the hostname, I had to sign up for the $20/yr Pro plan. I don't mind the change in policy and having to pay as much as the lack of notice. A 5 day warning email just doesn't cut it. Seems like a pretty slimy way of doing business. |
