I'm trying to access my DVR from the Internet. Internally I have the 192.168.1.200 ip. I open the ports 80 and 8000 and these ports are being forwarded to the ip in my DVR. I can access the DVR from the Internet, but when I restart my dsl modem, I can't access until I manually update the ip address in the "Modify Hostname" option. These are my settings:

Hello arovic, Are you running an update client of any sort? Check this Sticky for configuration, and post back and edit your question if you need more help. Don't forget to include the requested information from the bottom of the sticky. regards...
Unless you run some type of update client from the network that the DVR is connected to, you will not be able to detect the new WAN IP when it changes, and automatically update the hostname at your DynDNS account. You will be relegated to manual updates as you are performing at present.
Sure, but is it feasible and/or acceptable? What make and model DVR to you have? Does it have a built in update client? If it does, use it. Your modem has a built in update client - see page 43 of it's manual for details. You must configure it and ensure it is on the most recent firmware available - as listed here you need to be on firmware 7.4 or later. |

No. I'm not using an update client, since the only thing connected to the modem is the DVR. Right now I can access my DVR from the Internet, but if my dsl modem change the WAN IP I can't access the dvr, until I connect my laptop, and manually update the address in the Hostname options. Is this OK? "Server Address: http://members.dyndns.org"
