Using the free home DNS service with one WebHop with cloaking for the past several years. In the past couple of days the cloaking has stopped working. However using the //FQDN:port/path works fine.

That is to say,

http://lloydlasvegas.homedns.org:30080/weather/wx.htm works

but

http://lloyd-wx.homedns.org/ no longer works.

In fact, the cloaked address now gives me a 404.

I've run out of ideas. It doesn't look like the problem is on my side. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You should check Dyn's status page. Lately the WebHop service has been coming under DDoS attacks, hence the 404 errors.

Here, here and here are just the most recent ones. some visible immediately on the status page, others on the first history page.

If folks are running into webhop issues, please email me directly and I will see what we can do. This is a known issue that we are working to resolve and we have a couple of workarounds depending on specific circumstances.

Call me retarded but I can't find your email when I click on your name and it takes me to your profile page. I too am having problems. I can go to the web hop address: http://n5200house.webhop.info:81/ but when I try the hostname http://n5200house.webhop.info it just times out in the browser. Used to work perfect, any idea? I checked the dyn status page, it didn't mention any recent DOS attacks.

Thanks for the info. Don't see anything recent about DDoS attacks, but I'll check back again later.

It has started on Feb 8 apparently. I'm experiencing problems with recently changed or created webhops only. They seem to have issues propagating them (which I can't seem to link to a DDOS, but whatever) Good Luck defending, DYN.

Start by reading the sticky post titled READ ME FIRST, then if you still need help ask your own question. Don't post your question as an answer to somebody else's unrelated question.
