I have a first alert dvr and a netopia 3347 connected to dsl

I can see the cam on my home network, I have questions: (Netopia) On ip gateway should my interface type be changed? I have IP ( if IP what address goes here) or PPP

First alert) My dvr is set to static, I can not see it on my network as dynamic. Is that correct

Dyndns should my account be set up as a web hop or host?

1 Answer:

If you have Internet access, leave the IP settings in the Netopia alone. Changing the WAN settings if you don't know what you're doing will result in losing access to the Internet.

The DVR must have a static IP address (don't forget to ensure that the netmask is correct, usually 255.255.255.0 or /24 and that the gateway is correct, usually the router's LAN IP). Your Dyn hostname must be a Host with IP address.

This sticky should cover the other steps you need to take and lists the information we really need if you need further help.
