Is anyone else seeing very, very slow DNS activation after a domain has been configured? I have a domain that has been "pre activated" now for about three hours, despite the "Your zone file will be loaded onto our nameservers within an hour of pre-activation." that is noted in the DNS zone activation page. And yes, my delegation is correct, nameservers are all correct, etc. I had a similar problem about a week ago where it finally kicked in after ~2 hours, but this 3 hour delay today is really pushing it. |

This is a user to user forum, and we users can't help with this kind of problems, because it is account specfic, and one had to check your account. You better contact Dyn Support. The section "How do I change DNS providers without downtime?" in this KB article, or also this article may give you some ideas why it is so slow. Edit: |

Noted, but no. This is a newly activated domain, not a transfer. 1) Bought domain, configured domain, set up DNS records for domain. 2) Clicked "Domain Registration" -> "Edit nameservers" and changed them from parkeddns to ns1 thru http://ns5.mydyndns.org 3) Clicked "Dyn Standard DNS Service" -> DNS preferences -> and preactivated it. The verbiage that appears says: Your zone, ..., has been pre-activated. Your zone file will be loaded onto our nameservers within an hour of pre-activation. ... and ... "Valid Delegation Found - Your delegation is correct. DNS zone will be activated after next automated delegation check. " If I'm missing something - perhaps there is some indeterminate amount of time for "automated delegation check" - then fine, no worries. But I've done this before and had it take in under 20 minutes, and today I'm pushing 4 hours with no functioning DNS, and I'm wondering why. |
