I'm looking for a DSL router to enable DDNS on my w2k8 server so my understand is that I need a one that support port-forwarding and bridging.

What's your opinion about the Lynksys E2100L, is clear for me that it supports port-forwarding but not sure about the bridging.

Any comments are welcome.

Thanks, m0dest0.

More Linksys devices are known to be problematic than are known to work, so I'd recommend avoiding using any update client built into a Linksys device.

However, your router only needs to support port forwarding. You can run a software client on your server and you don't need it to support bridging. You'd only need it to support bridging if you were running a second router behind it, and needed to use it's update client.

This sticky covers port forwarding and remote access, which you'll probably find useful.

@Cry Havoc, I'm gonna buy a E2100L and try only the port-forwarding there and install the software client on my server.

Even if something unexpected happens I'm glad to see that it is supported on dd-wrt.

Thanks

If you flashed your router with an alternative firmware, like DD-WRT, OpenWRT or Tomato, you would have a pretty good router for the purposes you need.
