Hi there ! How to delete a "blocked for abuse" host (in a free account) since the is a message to contact support and when I have wited to support a automated response said that it cannot be done unless i migrate to payed accont ?? Quote: "Please check your update client's logs to determine why the client has been misbehaving. Since you have been blocked more than 10 times for abusive updates, you will need to contact Support to request assistance. Our Support team will be able to identify the problem and help you prevent the host from being blocked again in the future" Is there anyone from dyn support monitoring this community ? For how long the offending host will be blocked ? I need some details to provide back to tehnical depart form modifing firmware in a DVR model D7704HT, in order to comply with dyn policyes (this is the hardware ddns client) behind a ADSL router (no ddns client avaliable on ADSL modem), and the DVR is the only device in that LAN I have requested unbloking for several times ... TRUE ! Same time I have send a mail to dyn support as they said in the "blocked for abusive updates" notice. If they cannot be accesed what is the point in requesting contact if you do not care to answer nor to accept contact ? Thank You for any help You can spare ! |

Hello uamssuici, Yes, it appears to be a Catch-22 situation. This being a user to user forum, there is nothing we can do directly. Staff does drop by the forums from time to time, but there is no guarantee that they will respond. You may try contacting the Manager of this forum, whose email address appears at the top of the community home page. In the future if you wish test update clients, you can use the test account which is provided for this purpose. regards… Thank you ! I will try to sugest to developer team to use one of test host ! Thank You for pointing this valuable resource. Still the main problem remains: how to delete a blocked host within a free account ? I known that is a user forum and I'm NOT holding You responsable for my situation, contrary I'll welcame any ideas from You ! I'm just a user as You are ... Best regards ...

Not knowing exactly what affect host blocking has on an individual account, it appears that the following should get you where you should be able to delete a host. Sign in to your account. Go to My hosts Select the offending host name link At the bottom on the left is a link to delete said hostname. But be careful. If you have a grandfathered free account with more than one hostname, when you start deleting hostnames, the number still available will also be reduced.

As a free user, the numeber of hosts il limited to 2. Procedure described by You can be applied to remaining 1 host (not blocked). The blocked host had no link on it (it is removed) ... so I cannt do any opperation on that one: cannot delete, cannot unblock, cannot contact support since may mails are bounced back. I have send a email as suggested above ... no reply until now. In seemns that DYN care only to payed accounts - the rest of as ... I did not understand "have a grandfathered free account" ! You warnme that after deleting the second account I cannot create a new one ?

If as you say, your account is limited to 2 hostnames, then you have an older account. New free accounts only get 1 hostname. By grandfathered we mean, that you can keep your 2 hostnames until they expire or are deleted. Apparently in your case one of your hostnames has been deleted (for whatever reason), and now your account will only allow 1 hostname(the remaining one), observing the new free account policy. Since the deleted hostname is no longer in your free account, you will not be able to recover it back into that account.

As Scarabaeus correctly pointed out, I don't wand to delete anymore ... just to unblock so I cad give it a proper use. I have managed to get a firmware update from DVR dealer and now there is no more abusive updates form D7704HT device.
