Issue CSR for wildcard SSL request?

I have been trying to figure out who I should generate the CSR request if I want to use wildcards for our SSL certificate.

I am using IIS7 webservers and I am not sure what I should enter as hostname?

Should I only use http://domain.com or shoul I use *.domain.com in the CSR?

Can anyone help?

A quick use of Google shows that you should use *.example.com. See this thread on another forum and the FAQs at GeoTrust.
