I have a web page, installed on my personal websever 192.168.0.100 over Apache. From another computer I easilly can view the webpage, but from a computer outside my network I cannot. When I type hhtp://myname.homelinux.com from a computer outside my network I only reach the web interface administration of the modem Axesstel MV430.

I already set up the port forwarding on the modem but it doesn't work. I cannot reach my personal web page. I turned off the modem and then I turned on to check if my settings were saved and I can see the settings are perfectly saved.

The port forwarding is configured like this

PROTOCOL Port Start Port End Server IP Address

TCP 80 80 192.168.0.100 TCP 443 443 192.168.0.100

In my personal web server I opened this two ports (80, 443) but doesn't work from outside. I already spent three days to resolved the problem.

Can you help me please? I will really appreciate you help.

Regards

Robert

1 Answer:

For troubleshooting, did you work through this wiki entry and the official guide?
See if you can configure the administrative port 80 for your modem away to a different port. If not, you must chose a different port for your webserver. Do you also operate a router behind your modem? You also need to forward the ports there. Also, check that your hostname is configured with your public WAN IP address, never ever with the private IP address 192.168.0.100. Further, you must test your site with http://myname.homelinux.com/ from outside, because your modem/router may not support loopback.
