I've been using DynDNS in my Linksys WRT54GL (original firmware v4.30.11) for a long time. All of a sudden, a few days ago it stopped updating DynDNS; status says "Strange server response, are you connecting to the right server?". I haven't touched anything in the router, network or DynDNS account config, so it's a case of "just stopped working". Looks like DynDNS changed anything on its side. Any ideas about how to solve this? |

Fortunately, this problem went away after powering up and down the router and the ADSL modem (since I did it simultaneously I don't know which solved the issue, but it was quite likely the router) |

Please don't use comments - comment notification isn't reliable. I've no idea about DynDNS's business - this is a user to user forum. If they had made any meaningful changes many others would be posting. The fact too that this error has been reported for some 5 years suggests it's not related to a recent change. Unfortunately without knowing the actual return code I can't suggest much more. You may also want to contact DynDNS support and ask for assistance. |
