Long story short, I can't add my own nameservers under the domain admin section on dyndns. All I get is a "Create host failed for http://ns1.apileofbytes.com" and that's about it. The servers in question are ns1 and ns2, but they both resolve to the same IP address, at least for now (since it's a single machine). Not any other additional message. Any ideas? The hostnames resolve fine from all over the place and they've been around for some time now but currently I'm left with a newly bought domain and I can't use it. |

Thank you for your reply. The problem was that I hadn't added glue records to http://apileofbytes.com in order to define the IP addresses on which the nameservers are located. However, ns1 and ns2 were specifically defined as A hosts on classit's nameserver and not CNAME so something must've been fishy. Anyway, I added glue records on dyndns's admin page and everything works fine now. Thanks for the reply. |
