Just created a free account so I can access my computer remotely when I go on vacation next week. I have used in the past but my brother n law set it up. My account expired and I had to set up new account, same name. Now it is not logging me on. Checked my computer and it is set up so it can be remotely accessed. I have a wireless netgear router. I don't know if the ip addess is static or changes. Maybe that is the problem. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. |

We are prepared, because there are so many in your situation. Therefore we have just created this guide for you. Work through it, and if you stop at some point, come back to edit your question with the specific details. As you seem to intend to access your network via remote desktop, this is normally port 3389 to be forwarded on your router. When saying "Checked my computer and it is set up so it can be remotely accessed", be aware that you should access your network from outside when using the DynDNS hostname, however after having been successful with accessing internally via remote desktop from another computer using the internal IP address. In case you have written your message from the network you are trying to reach from outside: you've got a dynamic IP address from your ISP, so you must run some form of Update Client to keep your changing IP address information updated for your DynDNS hostname. |
