Hi all, Seriously considering getting the Mailhop Relay package as our company currently has no email failover and we get a bit of spam which could do with being cut-out. Current Setup: we currently have an external domain (lets say http://fashion.com) linked to a web hosting company. We also have a dyndns free account http://fashion.dyndns.org (with the DDNS updater on the SBS server). We have a subdomain with the hosting company http://mail.fashion.com which MX record points to our server for mail services. We also have a static IP. Outgoing mail goes through the hosting company's smarthost as expected. So the main question: How would I go about implementing the DDNS mail relay? Would it be just a simple MX record update at our webhost to point to the DDNS MX record? or something completely different? Sorry if it seems a daft question, just wanted to get a clearer picture. Also, am I right in thinking both inbound and outbound mail first go through the DDNS relay before being sent to the recipient(s)? Any help greatly appreciated and sorry if this question has already been asked before :) |

Yes, the red arrows look reasonable to briefly descibe MailHop Relay. |

Is this question still relevant for you? If it is, please elaborate on what you feel is still unclear and we'll try to help. |

DynDNS have published instructions for using MailHop Relay which should answer your first question. Also, Relay is only for inbound email, not outbound. For sending email you'll need MailHop Outbound. |

Thankyou for your help RotBlitz. What would be the deeper explanation? Sorry to be a pain. |
