General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hello everyone

Im having a problem in two DVRs stand alone, I configured the fowarding in the routers for the port 8282, and I am able to acces DVR from Lan (192.168.0.150) and also from outside the Lan(200.204.x.x), but the problem is that dvr does not update the ip in the host...my dvr have a place to fill with dyndns user, pass and hostname...I have filled in the gaps, but the IP adress in my dyndns only changes manually!

please someone give me some light...

Thanks!

Sounds like the update client built into your DVR doesn't work. Common problems include:

  • you entered your email address instead of the username
  • you didn't enter the full hostname (eg you entered myhost instead of myhost.example.com)
  • your DVR only supports passwords with letters and numbers up to some fixed length (often 8 characters)

If none of those are the case then you should initially check to see if there is an updated firmware. If there isn't then you'll need to disable the update client in the DVR and use some other device that is always switched on, such as a router or PC.

I have entered my username/pass, the full name (without http://) and the pass have 8 letters and numbers... Would there be a problem in my account?I set up my host services with the name I create, (eg http://name.dvrdns.org), the service is "Host", details, I entered manually the public IP(although it changes very often)....

By the way, thanks for the tips and help until now

Note that comments are just that, comments. There's no reliable notification for them so if you use them don't be surprised if nobody ever replies - we may never realise that you posted.

If you log in to the website with the username (not email address) and password, does that work?
