One of the most common issues for our users is a bad update client. Although it should be easy to develop an update client to work with our services (If the IP address changes, send update. If not, don't send update) we know this isn't always the case. We have a list of update clients on http://DynDNS.com that we have tested ourselves and certified. However, there are more devices and clients out there that work just fine but have not been tested by us. Have a device that works without sending abusive updates? List it here. |

I'm using a free dyn dns account (which expires after a month of inactivity) for my club webpages. Does the official client prevent this from happening even if your IP address doesn't change for months at a time, or do I need to log in to dyndns every month in order to prevent the hostname expiring? Cheers, Mark No, and yes (or use another client). If you want to ask your own question we can discuss it there.

"E4300" should be "E4200" - E4200 is the current top of the line, there is no Linksys E4300 |

I have a D-Link DIR-655 which I have been struggling with for a few years now. I use it to access web cameras at a remote cabin I own. I have updated to the latest firmware (1.35NA) per D-links recommendation, but I believe the update client still doesn't update properly. When I am at the remote location, power cycling will bring up the updater and everything will work fine. I'm assuming at power up there is a FW routine which forces an IP check and update which always works for me. Then, after a month or so, my ISP changes my IP address and I can't log onto the cameras until I go to my cabin and power cycle the router. Has anyone else had a similar problem, or am I doing something wrong? Please use the "Ask a Question" button and we'll try to help you.

I have been trying to use "Ask a Question" for my question above, but it is not going through for me. When I submit my question, there is a small thing that says "Cancel" at the top left side, but my question is not going through
