General DNS & Domains Dyn Email Update Clients Dyn Developer

Hello, i'm useing a T-OM Speedport W700V router for some time now. Updates useing its integrated UpdateClient always worked well. Since a couple of weeks however updates don't work. Ther was nothing changed at the router and as far as in know of, at my ISP. (T-ONLINE)

It has the following message in it's log every time it tries to update: 09.07.2010 01:09:16 DynDNS-Fehler: Der DynDNS-Anbieter meldet Fehler Unerwarteter Server-Fehler. (D002) (Ddate/time in german format, The message translates as: DynDNS error: the DynDNS provider announces rhe error unexpected server error (D002)

Can you give me any hint what goes wrong and how to fix it?

Thank you Hans

PS: If i login to my DynDNS account via the router i can manually update the IP

There have been a number of posts lately about update problems, though I've tried to duplicate them and can't.

Have you checked to see if your host update logs (on DynDNS) show anything useful? It could be any number of things, from a problem with your DNS provider, the time on your router being wrong and many other things.

So, like the originator of this question did, please ask your own question and provide details. Saying "I have a problem" doesn't provide enough for anybody to be able to help you.

Yes seems to be the normal case now, happens on W920V for VDSL and also on Fritzbox 7390 on VDSL, so is definitely a problem with dyndns. Sometimes the dyndns server doesn't respond but the message that appears most is a problem with the dns:

12.07.10 07:06:04 Dynamic DNS-Fehler: Die Dynamic DNS-Aktualisierung war erfolgreich, anschließend trat jedoch ein Fehler bei der DNS-Auflösung auf.

So the dyndns got updated but afterwards an error with dns resolution occured, what ever that means. Maybe a problem with new DNSSEC?

If you are having problems that are account related, such as updates apparently not happening, then you must create a ticket with DynDNS (as I said in reply to another identical question). Until you do so they will be unaware of the problem and cannot do anything to resolve the matter.

Note that the problem is not universal - I've attempted to duplicate these problems and have been unable to do so.

i could fix it. The firmware update link in my routers configuration menu led my to my ISP's support download page.(My router is provided by my ISP, T-Online, the Online-Service of german Telekom) In the firmware change log they list, besides a number changes to improve and fix their multi media services and to fix some problems after a network change:

Optimization of DynDns function and Synchronisation with the provider http://DynDns.org once agin possible. (roughly translated from german)

After updating the router's firmware to the latest version it update the ip without any more problem.
